In May, the Public Health Systems Division of the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Maine CDC) rolled out its new online Local Health Officer Reporting and Information System (LHORIS). LHORIS provides municipalities with the ability to change Local Health Officer (LHO) information online and replaces the “pen and paper” method of LHO updates and annual reporting.
Municipalities access LHORIS through a username and password. Once in the program, a municipality can:
- Update the municipality’s address, telephone number and clerk’s name;
- Update the public facing LHO contact number;
- Add or delete Local Health Officer information; and,
- Download an Excel spreadsheet containing the municipality’s LHORIS data.
Changes made by municipalities are updated daily on the Maine CDC Local Health Officer Search Engine located at: https://www.maine.gov/dhhs/mecdc/public-health-systems/lho/list.shtml
Questions about the LHORIS may be directed to Maine CDC District Public Health Liaisons Al May (alfred.may@maine.gov) or Drexell White (drexell.r.white@maine.gov)
