Corrigan Leaves MMA
Pam Corrigan has left Maine Municipal Association to become the county manager of Sagadahoc County. Pam was the Marketing Consultant in the Risk Management Services department of MMA. She actually worked for our broker, HUB International New England, LLC, who permanently assigned her to work exclusively with Risk Management Services at MMA’s location. She began working with MMA in June of 2001.
Elections Workshop
The Maine Town & City Clerks Association (MTCCA) will present its Title 21-A election workshop at two locations in September. The workshop will be held on September 5 at Keeley’s Banquet Center in Portland and on September 12 at the Black Bear Inn in Orono.
This workshop covers election officials and their duties, central voter registration, notice of election, absentee voting, election day duties, and accessible voting.
Each workshop runs from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

MAAO Fall Conference
The Maine Association of Assessing Officers (MAAO) will hold its Fall Conference September 12-14 at the Spruce Point Inn in Boothbay Harbor.
Sessions will cover such topics as the BETR program, regionalized assessing, personal property discovery, making effective presentations, and a legislative update.

Voter Registration
A full day workshop on Voter Registration will be held September 24 at the Augusta Civic Center. This workshop covers the duties and responsibilities of the registrar of voters before, during and after each election.

FIREFIGHTERS CONVENTION
The Maine State Federation of Firefighters will hold its 44th annual convention the weekend of September 13-16 in Winslow.
Hundreds of firefighters from across the state are expected to attend.
PB/BA Workshop
Maine Municipal Association will offer its workshop for Local Planning Boards and Boards of Appeal on September 25 at the Holiday Inn in Ellsworth. This workshop begins with a light meal at 5:30 p.m. and runs until 9:00 p.m.

EOW Workshop
MMA will be presenting its Elected Officials Workshop on September 26 in Paris at the Fire Station building. This workshop gives selectmen and councilors a better understanding of their roles and responsibilities as elected municipal officials.
