VITAL STATISTICS

The Maine Town & City Clerks Association (MTCCA) will hold a half-day workshop on "Vital Statistics" on August 2 at the Waterville Elks Lodge.

This half-day workshop is designed for more experienced clerks and will give more in-depth guidance on amendments (including births, deaths, marriages, acknowledgement of paternity and court determinations), delayed births, and adoptions.

MANAGERS INSTITUTE

The 62nd New England Management Institute will be held August 29-31 at Atlantic Oakes By the Sea in Bar Harbor. Featured speakers and facilitators include Dr. John Jenkins and Dana Lee. John Jenkins is an instructor/trainer for the Maine Criminal Justice Academy with over 35 years of experience teaching wellness and personal development. He is currently mayor of Auburn and is a former two-term mayor of Lewiston. Dana Lee, who just recently named town manager in Poland, has done training through a consulting firm that he formed in 2006.

CLERKS NETWORKING

The Maine Town & City Clerks Association is sponsoring its "2007 Clerks Networking Day" on August 24 at the Waterville Elks Lodge.

This interactive workshop will consist of a series of mini-sessions covering such topics as internal controls, central voter registration, online licensing, board meetings, annual reports, legislative issues, and more.

To be entered into Maine Municipal Association's "2007 Municipal Reports Competition" make sure you mail a copy of your town report to MMA by August 15.
