Welcome to Augusta
(from Maine Townsman, August/September 2001)
On behalf of the City of Augusta and the Kennebec Valley Chamber Commerce we are pleased to welcome the members of the Maine Municipal Association to its 65th Annual Convention. We are excited that municipal officials from all over Maine will be visiting our area. The Convention, held October 10-12 at the Augusta Civic Center, is a great opportunity for us to showcase Maine's Capital region.
The area is rich in history, industry and commerce and serves as the seat of State Government. The region is a major hub for business and industry boasting a bright future with a vibrant economy and opportunity for new business development. The Convention's theme, "Working Together, Winning Together," is reflection of our region's efforts to strengthen our economy, improve business opportunities and our quality of life.
The Capital region is a special place and we take great pride in it. We hope you enjoy your stay here during the Convention. Please stop by our booth in the exhibit area to say "hello" and find out more about the region's many activities and business offerings.
Best wishes for a successful Convention.
