The Town of Scarborough is seeking on-call positions that perform traffic control and physical security tasks. This position is responsible for the efficient performance of required duties in conformance with rules, regulations and policies established by the Town and its Police and Fire Departments.
Duties consist of a number of general traffic control responsibilities required to maintain the stability and safety of the community. Responds to serious fire, police and rescue calls to assist with traffic control, road closures and incident scene preservation. Facilitates the movement of vehicular & pedestrian traffic while using approved traffic direction and control techniques.
Position requirements: Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent. Possess a valid Class C Maine Driver’s License. Required to use personal vehicle to respond to calls. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing. Ability to deal with people in a courteous and professional manner under stressful and/or confusing situations.
