City of Portland - Parking Division Shift Leader


Parking Division - Full-time, 4-day, 37.5 hour work week - Current schedule is Wednesday-3:30 pm-1:15 am, Thursday thru Saturday 3:30 pm-1:45 am - This is a supervisory position responsible for receiving and accounting for funds generated by parking garages and lots. The shift leader supervises cashiers and maintenance workers and is in charge of facilities during all hours of operation. Maine class C driver’s license required (must provide license number); ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays; ability to work in the confined space of a toll booth and to patrol the facility on foot including multiple stair towers; excellent communication and customer service skills; proven experience handling cash, completing reconciliation reports and making bank deposits. Knowledge of parking operations and supervisory experience is desirable, as are mechanical aptitude and basic computer skills in a windows environment. This is a hands-on supervisory position requiring the ability to oversee multiple locations simultaneously, and to perform routine maintenance including snow shoveling when needed.  Offers of employment are contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory criminal background check.  Starting salary rate is $669.38/week, plus night shift differential.
