Grade: 16 [$18.39/hour]

Schedule: Hours Vary- some evenings and Saturdays required


SUMMARY: The Lewiston Public Library is seeking a dynamic individual with excellent customer service and technology skills to work as a Library Technician in two library divisions: the Children’s Division and the Adult & Teen Services Division.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A bachelor’s degree and previous library experience is ideal; equivalent combination of education and experience, with working knowledge of children’s literature is required. Preference given to candidates with reference and information discovery skills and experience working with children.

WORK ACTIVITIES: Duties include planning and presenting programs for children (birth through middle school), collaborating with community partners and other library staff, and working on the public service desks assisting patrons of all ages with library information and resources. Provides reader’s advisory services to children and parents. Candidates should possess a high level of energy, initiative and flexibility along with excellent communication and collaboration skills; an understanding of new technologies, including social networking; and will be able to deliver a high level of customer service while working in a fast-paced environment.
