MAINTENANCE WORKER – TEMPORARY - OXFORD STREET SHELTER

Health and Human Services Department – Social Services Division – Oxford Street Shelter

Search Extended - Schedule is Monday – Friday, 7:30 am-4:30 pm -

The Social Services Division seeks a qualified applicant to join the facilities team located at the Oxford Street Shelter.  Main location will be Oxford Street Shelter but may be required to do work at the Family Shelter as needed.  Successful applicant must be comfortable working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with knowledge of building maintenance.  Requirements: Thorough knowledge of building maintenance and ability to make repairs; physical strength, agility and stamina necessary to withstand exposure to adverse climatic conditions as outdoor work is done daily including snow removal during the winter months; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, supervisors and guests of the shelter.  Requirements: Valid Maine Class B driver’s license (must provide license number) or may be hired at lower level valid Maine Class C license and ability to obtain Class B within six (6) months; must pass pre-employment medical exam and fitness assessment; must pass federally mandated drug test; must have and maintain a good driving record.  Offers of employment are contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory criminal background check.  

Pay range starting at $20.05/hour.
