Health and Human Services Department - Public Health Division - Chronic Disease and Prevention

Full-Time (37.5 hours/week), Project Position -

Seeking a qualified individual for a full-time, project position that works full time in our Tobacco Prevention Program, a part of the City of Portland's Public Health Division.  This grant funded position will assist in reducing exposure to tobacco in disparate populations through community education and policy and environmental changes.  Other responsibilities include program planning, implementation, evaluation, distribution of health promotion materials, and community outreach.  Position requires a bachelor’s degree in a public health-related field or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.  Experience in tobacco related policy and/or community health outreach work required.  Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences.  Offers of employment are contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory criminal background check.  Pay range starting at $874.88/week ($23.33/hour).
