MMTCTA’s Governmental Accounting Workshop sponsored by the Maine Municipal Tax Collectors' and Treasurers' Association – 8/18/22 and 8/19/22

All newly elected/appointed Treasurers should attend. Both days are mandatory to receive certification.

Workshop Topics:
Governmental accounting concepts build off of general accounting concepts and introduce a level of complexity that municipal tax collectors and treasurers are required to understand and apply. This workshop is designed as a review of basic general accounting concepts and ties them to governmental accounting concepts, showing similarities and (more importantly) the difference between the two methods.

**NOTE: This is not an introduction to Accounting course.**

(Fee includes continental breakfast, coffee, lunch and workshop materials)

Cancellation:
Cancellation notification must be given in writing at least 3 business days (8/15/22) before the session begins. Any cancellation received within that 3 day window will be charged the full registration fee. All cancellations are subject to a $15 administrative fee for processing. Certification:
Participants must sign in at the beginning of the course and be present for both days to receive a certificate. Certificates will be handed out after the second day class and will not be mailed. If you do not pick up your certificate after the class, you will not receive credit for attending. For attendees who must leave early for emergency situations; a determination will be made by the Professional Development Committee of the Executive Board as to the nature of the emergency and whether a sufficient portion of the course was covered to warrant certification credit. *Any member whose certification expires must attain their original certification again.

Government Accounting can be used in the Maine Municipal Tax Collectors’ & Treasurers’ Association Certification Program. Must attend both days to receive certification.
