The Franklin County Commissioners are requesting bids for snow removal in West Freeman Township for 2024-2027, a three-year contract.  A performance bond is required.  All bids must be in writing, sealed, and marked “West Freeman Township Snow Removal Bid” on the envelope.  The sealed bids must be received no later than July 12, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. For complete specification please contact the Franklin County Commissioners office (207-778-6614) or www.franklincountymaine.gov website.

To remove the snow and provide sand to mix with salt (to be provided by the county) from the following roads in West Freeman Township:

  1. No. 328, The Carroll Brackley Road, so-called, from the Craig School House to the Phillips Town Line, a distance of thirty-five hundredths (.35) miles,
  2. No. 1076, from the end of State Aide #5 to the residence of Mr. Cushman, so-called, a distance of two and forty hundredths (2.40) miles,
  3. No. 1383, from No. 1076, the Spruce Nubble Road, so-called, to the Rausch Turn, so-called, a distance of fifty hundredths (.50) miles,
  4. No. 2025, from No. 1076, the Charles Smith Road, so-called, to the Phillips Town Line, a distance of thirty-nine hundredths (.39) miles,
  5. No. 330, from the junction of State Aide #5 up to the Mile Square Extension to the Avon Bus Turn around, a distance of seventy hundredths (.70) miles.

Being four and thirty-four hundredths (4.34) miles of accepted Town Ways in the West Freeman Township for the snow season commencing in 2024 and ending in 2027 in accordance with the snow removal law.
