The Franklin County Probate Department is accepting applications for a full-time Deputy Register of Probate position. Under the general supervision of the Register of Probate, this position is responsible for assisting with the general operations of the probate court within applicable codes, laws, and statutes. The primary role of this position includes distributing and receiving paperwork related to estates, guardianships, conservatorships, name changes, adoptions, and other related information while working with the Probate Register and Judge.

Requirements for this position include:

  • Duties require knowledge of legal/secretarial skills and probate code, equivalent to the completion of an Associate Degree in a related field, and one to three years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of general office practices, procedures, and equipment.
  • Written and oral communication skills are a must
  • Strong attention to detail.
