Director, After Care Program
Responsibilities
The director will be responsible for and lead the day-to-day organization of the after-school program at Mt Vernon Elementary School, providing high standards of care and play opportunities for children in grades k-5 in a safe and secure environment. The director will be someone who is passionate about all aspects of childcare and education, and able to bring new ideas to the role; has a caring and dynamic approach, as well as, an ability to lead and motivate a range of volunteers.
Hours
School Days from 2:30 – 5:30, Half Days begin at 11:30.
Requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Proven leadership and personnel management experience
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to multi-task effectively
- Proficiency with basic computer software and technology platforms
- Skilled in conflict resolution and creative problem-solving
- Ability to build positive rapport and relationships with children and families
- Preferred two years of college with a focus on childcare and/or elementary education or a related field
- Experience in a childcare setting, working with youth at the elementary level preferred
- Must be professional, organized, and courteous
- Must submit and pass a criminal background check
- First aid certified preferable
Pay Scale
This is a Permanent Part-Time, non-exempt, non-union position.
