The Town of Paris, Maine, is seeking a dedicated, experienced, and visionary leader to serve as our next Police Chief. This is an exceptional opportunity for a skilled law enforcement professional to lead a committed team in a community that values public safety and service excellence.

Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and direction to the Paris Police Department, ensuring the highest standards of law enforcement and public safety.
• Develop and implement strategic plans, policies, and procedures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the department.
• Foster a positive relationship with the community, promoting trust, transparency, and collaboration.
• Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of police personnel.
• Manage the department’s budget, resources, and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
• Collaborate with other local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies as necessary.
• Respond to emergencies and incidents, providing guidance and support as needed.

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in law enforcement, with a minimum of 10 years and experience in a management or supervisory role.
• A degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to develop and implement effective policies and strategies.
• Knowledge of modern law enforcement principles, practices, and technology.
• Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with community members and other stakeholders.
• Commitment to ethical conduct and integrity.
