The Town of Kennebunkport, Maine, is seeking a full-time experienced professional to fill the position of Treatment Plant Operator for its Wastewater Division of the Public Works Department. We are looking for a team-oriented person, who will participate with co-workers in the operation of equipment required to ensure the proper operation of the wastewater system and has the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Town officials, employees, vendors, residents, and members of the public. The Town of Kennebunkport is a coastal Maine community in York County, with a commitment to quality of life and the environment. Kennebunkport offers lovely sandy beaches at Goose Rocks and a rocky coastline from the Kennebunk River to the fishing village of Cape Porpoise. We have a vibrant summer population that is in balance with our commercial businesses.

This position is hourly with overtime work for on-call weekend lab work, non-FLSA Exempt, and reports to the Lead Plant Operator. Kennebunkport is a coastal municipality of 20 square miles, and the Wastewater Division maintains 18 miles of gravity sewer lines, 14 major pump stations, and 90 grinder pumps. The Treatment Plant is authorized to discharge up to 0.70 mgd. This position will assist in the operations of the Wastewater Treatment Plant and the maintenance of the collection system. Applicants must possess a Maine Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator License or the ability to obtain one. Applicants must also have the skills and experience to maintain the wastewater treatment plant and wastewater collection/discharge system, strong computer skills, and experience with SCADA.

The Town of Kennebunkport offers a pay that starts at $28.75 per hour and goes up depending on experience.
