Seasonal Summer Laborer

Operating under general supervision from the Working Foreman or employee of higher classification, and in accordance with established policies and procedures, the incumbent is responsible for assisting in a variety of functions that involve manual labor tasks in construction and general maintenance activities.

Works on road maintenance crews, breaking pavement, pouring, and shoveling asphalt; operating a manual or automatic compactor, operating manual or automatic digging equipment, and filling depressions with sand or gravel.

Assists Truck Drivers on recycling trucks, loads, and unloads heavy materials from trucks, moves or aids in moving heavy boxes and equipment.

Operates air compressors, pumps, generators, and related Public Works equipment.

The position is flexible 20-40 hours per week, with additional overtime and weekend work available. Pay rate of $22.00 per hr.
