LAUNDRY OPERATOR – Barron Center, Linen Services
Permanent, Full-time – 37.5 hours per week.
Weekly schedule: Friday - Tuesday 6:30AM-2:30PM.
Health and Human Services Department - Barron Center
The Barron Center is owned and operated by the City of Portland and is Maine’s largest skilled nursing facility. Now is your chance to have the job you always wanted - being a part of a team that makes a difference in the lives of the residents of the Barron Center.
Duties may include:
- Distributing clean linen within the facility.
- Rubbish removal
- Loading and unloading commercial washers and dryers.
- Folding and sorting linen.
- Picking up soiled linen.
- Hanging and delivering personal laundry.
Requirements:
- Excellent customer service skills are required.
- Must be able to lift objects weighing over 50 lbs. for an extended period of time.
- Must be able to work in extreme temperature conditions.
- Must possess a valid Maine Class C driver’s license.
- Must be able to follow oral and simple written instructions.

Salary & Benefits:
This is a union position, CEBA Grade 5, starting pay range $17.37- $19.32 per hour
