VITAL RECORDS CLERK – Full Time (37.5 hours per week)

City Clerk's Office

The City Clerk's Office is looking for a vital records clerk to join their team! This position will be involved with complex and confidential duties issuing birth, marriage, and death certificates, fishing and hunting licenses, marriage licenses, dog licenses, while handling high volume of telephone calls and mail-in requests. Additionally, this role will assist with Election related duties as needed.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Energetic, detail oriented, organized, customer friendly, computer literate and have the ability to juggle multiple tasks.
  • Must also have excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be able to climb a step ladder and retrieve heavy (up to 20 lbs.) volumes of records from vault.
  • Must be able to work with a diverse population, including language diversity
  • Must be able to qualify as a Notary Public within 60 days of hire.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Overtime hours, that may include evening and weekend work, may be required during petition verification and elections.

Salary & Benefits:

CEBA – Grade 10 - Salary range starting at $19.85 /hour.
