Communications Director / Grant Writer

The Town of Dover-Foxcroft has an opening for the fulltime position of Communications Director/Grant Writer.  The position is a salaried position and will report to the Town Manager. Duties will include directing the communications efforts of the town, writing grant applications and project management.  The position will also serve a supporting role to the Local Emergency Management Director during critical incidents.   

The successful candidate will have strong communication skills including experience serving in a capacity to oversee the communications for an organization or major project.  The candidate will have strong communication skills including both written and speaking.  The candidate will have experience communicating over various platforms including on social media platforms.  The candidate will have a basic knowledge of grant writing and of public funding sources and how to effectively research grant opportunities for municipalities.  The candidate will have skills and experience with grant administration and project management.  Applicants without experience in the public sector will be considered however qualified applicants with prior experience in the public sector will be preferred. Also, a preference will be given to applicants with a knowledge of or experience with Emergency Management.  

Salary is negotiable depending on training and experience.
