The County of Aroostook is currently accepting applications for the position of Community Services Director for the Unorganized Territory of Aroostook.

The Community Services Director coordinates all unorganized territory services in the absence of an organized township such as a municipality. This position negotiates contracts for various services including but not limited to ambulance services, fire protection, solid waste, animal control, snow removal, and road maintenance.

The County of Aroostook does not own or maintain any construction equipment and all public works activities are contracted out to the private sector or other public entities. Therefore, the ideal candidate will possess strong contract administration skills, as well as the necessary communications skills to interact with area contractors and municipal/state officials.

Qualifications: Highly motivated, skilled, and qualified individual with strong organizational skills. A minimum of five years of relevant work experience required. Candidates with experience in municipal or state budgeting, grant writing and contract negotiation and contract administration setting with a background in road construction/design, engineering plans preferred.
