The Town of Raymond is currently seeking a full-time Finance Director.  This position acts as the fiduciary and is fiscally responsible for the administration and oversight of Town funds.   

The Finance Director is primarily responsible for the custody, disbursement, and investment of Town funds. Work involves cash management; chief liaison with auditor and financial institutions; disbursement of funds to cover expenditures; and preparing and administering the department budget. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Town Manager with considerable independence of action in accordance with applicable laws and following generally accepted accounting practices. The Finance Director is required to create financial reports and budgets and attend the Select Board and Budget Finance Committee meetings on an as needed basis. 

Desirable training and experience:

Considerable experience including administrative responsibility in work involving the receipt, deposit, disbursement and investment of large amounts of money; a four-year degree in business administration or financial management; or any equivalent combination of experience and training.  Experience in working in a municipality and Trio software a plus.  

Necessary requirements:

Certification from the Maine Municipal Tax Collectors' and Treasurers’ Association or ability to obtain certification within a reasonable length of time.  A person must be bondable. A Certified Public Accountant is a plus.

Starting Salary Range: $80,000 - $95,000 annually, depending on experience.
