Shelter Attendant, Family Shelter - Part Time

Part Time - 12 hours/week | Saturday & Sunday, 8:00am - 2:00pm

Shelter Attendant needed to work day shifts at the City’s Family Shelter. This is a permanent, part time essential position for 12 hours weekly. The schedule for this position is Saturday & Sunday, 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Duties include:

• Monitoring residents sleeping areas.

• Conducting buildings safety checks.

• Completing shelter intakes, shift reports and client census data.

• Providing after hours general assistance.

• Other duties as required.

Requirements:

• Graduation from high school with experience in crisis intervention, mental illness, and substance use; or any combination of experience and training.

• Preference for experience working with homeless population or experience working in a homeless shelter.

Salary:

This is a union position, CEBA Grade 9 - Starting pay is $19.54/hr.
