DESCRIPTION: The Town of Sabattus is seeking an individual to fill the position of full-time office clerk at the Sabattus Town Office. The clerk is responsible for providing customer service to individuals needing assistance at Town Office in person or by phone and email, processing State of Maine vehicle registrations, issuing of various licenses/permits, processing payments for taxes, sanitary district payments, and become cross trained with other job responsibilities within the office. The hours of the position are Monday, Wednesday Thursday 8:00 pm to 4:30 pm; Tuesdays from 8:15AM to 6:00 PM and Friday from 8:15 am to 1:00 pm. The starting pay will be $20/hour with an increase after successful completion of the 6-month probation period.
REQUIREMENTS: Previous experience preferred in working within a municipal or state office, but not mandated, knowledge of office procedures, ability to utilize local accounting software and State of Maine software, ability to provide courteous customer service and ability to work in a small team environment.
