1. Introduction

The Town of St. George is seeking sealed proposals for the replacement and repair to the granite piers supporting the Marshall Point Lighthouse walkway. The replacement piers must meet the specifications outlined in this Request for Proposals (RFP).

2. Scope of Work

The successful bidder will be responsible for the implementation of the attached structural plans developed by Gartley & Dorksy Engineering & Surveying.

3. Proposal Submission Requirements

All proposals must include the following:

  • Cost breakdown including the total price for the construction and delivery.
  • Timeline for completion of the project.
  • A list of references with contact information from previous clients who have worked on similar projects.
  • Proof of insurance coverage (general liability and workers’ compensation).
  • A copy of the contractor’s business license and relevant certifications.

5. Proposal Evaluation Criteria

Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • Cost: The total cost for the materials and construction of the project.
  • Experience and Qualifications: The experience of the contractor in constructing piers or like structures.
  • Quality of Materials: Compliance with the specified materials and adherence to quality standards.
  • Timeline: The proposed timeline for completing the work and ensuring minimal disruption to the recreational pier.
  • References: Positive feedback from previous clients and evidence of successful, similar projects.

The Town of St. George reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to waive any irregularities or informalities in the proposal process and to negotiate with the selected bidder to finalize contract terms or modify the scope of work.

  • Bid Opening: January 17th, 2025 9:00 am
  • Project Start Date: ASAP
