Changes are: Bid date changes and Engineering completion date changes.
The Town of Newry is requesting quotes for the design/engineering and consultation of hazard mitigation in the Sunday River at several locations. All Maine Dept. of Environmental Protection or other State or Federal agencies as needed for work in the river, will be strictly adhered to and the responsibility of the consultant to procure any permits on behalf of the Town.

• 44.497997, -70.873494 island that needs work to avoid flood waters creating a new shortcut
• 44.498134, -70.873709 through 44.498073, -70.875608, bank work to mitigate erosion
• 44.498159, -70.875721, bank work to mitigate erosion
• 44.497556, -70.879354, bank work to mitigate erosion
• 44.498371, -70.887447 through 44.498341, -70.888569 overflow channel and bank mitigation work
If your company can have the quote returned to our office by March 18, 2025 at 9am and have the work completed by September 1, 2025, then please submit a quote.
This scope of work will be used for a ‘shovel ready’ grant process the Town is hoping for FEMA BRIC or HAZ-MIT grants and/or Congressional Designated Funds grants in the 2026 fiscal year.
All design/engineering work must be completed by September 1, 2025. (For the successful bidder; State and Federal permitting will take place after the engineering work is complete)
Site inspections are highly recommended, and the EMA Director is available M-Th, 8am-3pm for onsite meetings.
