345IP Stationary Compactor and Hopper

 

The Town of Sabattus, Maine is accepting sealed proposals for the purchase and installation of a 345IP Stationary Compactor for the Transfer facility.  Sealed proposals will be received no later than 12:00 p.m., Friday, October 25th, 2024. Contact Interim Town Manager Erik Baker for additional information on the project.  Proposals shall be submitted to the attention of the Interim Town Manager Erik Baker, 190 Middle Road, Sabattus, ME 04280

The Town of Sabattus reserves the right to reject any or all bids.

  1. Statement of Purpose

The Town of Sabattus, Maine (hereinafter, the "Town") is hereby soliciting sealed Proposals for a 345IP Stationary Compactor for the Transfer facility.

  1. Objectives

The Town of Sabattus currently has an existing Galbreath Compactor and Power unit for the Transfer Station facility located at 30 Pleasant Hill Road, Sabattus. The Town is looking to trade-in and replace the Galbreath 2.5-yard stationary compactor with the 10HP single phase power unit “AS-IS” for a 345IP Stationary Compactor and hopper system. 

  1. Warranty

Contractor warrants and guarantees to the Town of Sabattus that all work will be of good quality and free from faults or defects and in accordance with the requirements of the Contract Documents. The Contractor must be able to perform service to 30 Pleasant Hill Road in Sabattus, Maine. All unsatisfactory Work, all faulty or defective Work, and all Work not conforming to the requirements of the Contract Documents at the time of acceptance, shall be considered defective. All Defective Work shall be corrected to the satisfaction of the Town of Sabattus. The Town of Sabattus requires warranty coverage of at least three (3) years at no additional charge for structural and one (1) year labor and parts.

  1. Material
    1. Remote 10HP Singer Phase power unit with weather cover and six (6’) hoses in lieu of standard three (3) phase power unit
    2. Oil heater thermostatically controlled, 10 to 60 Gallon reservoir, factory Installed
    3. Controls on Fifteen foot (15’) remote pendent in lieu of mounting in panel face, factory installed
    4. Pressure gauge – color coded and numeric on fifteen (15’) foot hose mounted, installed by contractor
    5. Five (5’) foot stand guide rail, installed by contractor
  1. Fabrication

3.1.  Fabrication of a new Hopper System

3.2.  32”H  x  87”L x 137”W

3.3. Seven (7) Gauge steel hopper with 3” x 4.1 channel wrap around the top edge of the              hopper 

3.4 Include Formed bent side transition plates to match the existing hopper system

3.5 Painted dark Green to match the container

  1. Installation

The contractor will remove the existing Galbreath compactor from the concrete pad with the old hopper system, remove the power unit from the existing steel stand and install the power unit back on the steel stand. Install the compactor and the new hopper system into place. Lag the gauge and demo the operation of the compactor to the operator.

  1. REMOVAL OF Galbreath

The contractor will remove the Galbreath from the transfer station located at 30 Pleasant Hill Road in Sabattus, Maine.

 

BID SUBMISSION DEADLINE & CLOSING

All interested bidders must submit sealed bids by 12:00 p.m. on Friday, October 25th, 2024. The Town will accept bids by mail (U. S. Post Office or nationally recognized carrier) or hand delivery up to 12:00pm on 10/25/2024 and no later. All bids must be sealed, Marked "Transfer Station Compactor" and addressed to:

** No bids will be considered that are sent by fax, email or any other means other than what is stated above.**

All sealed bids will be opened by the Interim Town Manager and read at 12:00 pm, Wednesday November 6th, 2024. The Board of Selectmen are expected to award the bid that meets the requirements from above at their regular business meeting the evening of November 19th, 2024 which begins at 6:30pm.

OTHER

The Town reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids for any reason whatsoever and to waive any formality in any or all. The decision of the Selectmen on these matters shall be final and conclusive without appeal.
