Status: Full-Time 40+ hours/week
Grade: 6 [$29.87 - $43.15/hour] Depending on experience
Schedule: Mon-Fri, 6:00am – 2:00pm
Additional hours may be required for events or emergencies.
SUMMARY: The Building Maintenance Supervisor plans, schedules, coordinates, supervises and participates in day-to-day operations pertaining to City of Lewiston buildings and parking facilities.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: One-year certificate from college or technical school, or three (3) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Working knowledge of workplace safety, OSHA, and Bureau of Labor safety standards; knowledge of blueprint reading and interpretation; tools, equipment and mechanical systems employed in custodial, building and grounds maintenance; ability to utilize computer systems such as Microsoft Office programs and budgeting software. Must have a valid driver’s license, in good standing. A Building Operator Certificate is preferred.
WORK ACTIVITIES: Maintain supervision of division employees in the areas of facilities maintenance, custodial activities and parking structure needs. Meet with and evaluate work done by service vendors, including custodial cleaning contractors. Manage and maintain all HVAC, Fire Alarms, Fire Extinguishers, Bailers, Electrical and Sprinkler Systems in accordance with local, state and federal codes. Monitor and maintain Energy Management Systems for heating and cooling City facilities. Complete supervisory paperwork for employees, such as training, payroll and time management. Prepares operational budget and assists Facilities Manager in budgetary preparation of RFPs for projects, contracts, and project planning. Participate in management meetings and work collaboratively, coordinating with other departments on maintenance needs. Perform other duties as required.
