City of Portland - Senior Administrative Officer II - Police Department
The Police Department is seeking a dedicated and self-directed Senior Administrative Officer II to join our team in a supportive role. This position will provide essential support to the Human Resources Liaison and contribute to the smooth operations of our department. The ideal candidate will have exceptional interpersonal skills, a strong customer service orientation, and the ability to handle complex personnel matters with discretion, confidentiality, and empathy. Essential duties and responsibilities:
• Working with the Principal Administrative Officer (PAO) to onboard new employees.
• Assists with scheduling coordination and data entry of the first report of injury forms.
• Assists with daily personnel related matters.
• Maintains confidentiality and assists the Human Resources Liaison with weekly human resource functions.
• Develops and assists in the development of new methods and procedures for departmental operations.
• Acts as liaison between the department and other departments, various government agencies, or between the City government and citizens groups and committees.
• May assist in compiling data for departmental budget; monitor and analyze budget execution; processes and personnel transactions, and departmental records.
Requirements
• Graduation from a college or university with a bachelor’s degree in public or business administration or a closely related field or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the following knowledge, abilities and skills.
• Applicants should have experience in dealing directly with the public, strong administration skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Solid understanding of database management and spreadsheet software.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Prior experience in payroll, human resources and Munis experience is a plus.

Salary & Benefits:
This is a non union (Grade B25) - $28.72 - $38.61/hr.
