The Town of Newcastle is looking for a part-time Code Enforcement Office/Licensed Plumbing Inspector to be a supportive team member in a friendly community. This is a flexible schedule, 20 hours per week position. Our ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years of experience in construction, electrical, and/or plumbing, or related field that enables the applicant to perform the position’s administrative and field-work duties. Preference will be given to applicants who are certified as a Maine Code Enforcement Officer and License Plumbing Inspector. Training & experience required:
• High school diploma or its equivalent supplemented by courses or experience in
building construction, plumbing, and electrical work.
• Have or be able to obtain certification within 12 months as a Maine Code
Enforcement Officer.
• Have or be able to obtain certification within 6 months as a Licensed Plumbing
Inspector.
Necessary special requirements:
• Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
