The City of Old Town is seeking a qualified team leader to fill the position of Deputy Fire Chief.
The City of Old Town Fire Rescue Department covers 300 square miles of response area and responds to more than 2400 calls a year. The Department is made up of four crews with a full time compliment of 24 Firefighter Paramedics, AEMT and EMT licensees. Crews work a rotating 24/48/24/96 schedule.
The candidate for the Deputy Fire Chief must have strong leadership and managerial skills combined with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Additional essential traits included, but are not limited to: community oriented, strong work ethic, integrity, proven human resources capabilities, adaptability, problem solving skills and creativity.
Qualifications preferably include seven to ten years experience with a full time fire/rescue agency. Five years of command officer experience. Basic EMT licensure preferred. Candidate must have demonstrated experience and skill within the following critical areas: crafting collaborative inter-agency relationships, pacing change, fire inspections, fire ground management, EMS and emergency management.
The City of Old Town has a competitive wage/ health and benefits package.
This is a salary position with the City of Old Town, wages are based on experience. Expected salary range is $85,000 to $95,000.
