VACANCY

The Town of Skowhegan is seeking a qualified applicant to fill the position of Economic & Community Development Director. The position requires administrative and specialized technical work in planning and directing the program of economic and community development for the Town of Skowhegan and in managing the department.

The Director is responsible for maintaining a community development program to encourage community improvement activities.  Work includes general administration of the department; supervising staff; and planning, coordinating, supervising and participating in the implementation of community development projects.

Handle the day-to-day activities of Skowhegan Economic Development Corp., which includes the running of the Renaissance Building, the Maitland Richardson Building at Northgate Industrial Park and Southgate Industrial Park. 

Work is performed under the general supervision of the Town Manager and is carried on with considerable independence and initiative and is evaluated through observation, reports, and results obtained.

Experience in community development including administrative duties;

Graduation from a four-year college or university, preferably with specialization in community development or a related field.  Applicants with extensive experience in Economic and Community Development may also be considered.
