As of July1, 2024, the Gardiner Police Department began a 24-hour patrol schedule. This is a static 1 day on, 2 days off, 1 day on, 3 days off rotation with built-in rest/sleep times of 6 hours per shift with half of the rest/sleep time per week being paid! Pay week is 42 hours.

We offer a competitive salary!! Lateral base pay and vacation commensurate with actual years of service up to contract top step of 10 years!!

The City of Gardiner offers the MMEHT PPO 2500 plan with a health reimbursement account (HRA). The City reimburses employees for the maximum out-of-pocket, in-network, deductibles and co-insurances paid by the employee up to the maximum per calendar year. The City also offers an "In Lieu of Insurance" incentive for not taking insurance through the City of Gardiner.

The City of Gardiner is part of the MEPERS retirement system, Plan 3C for Law Enforcement Officers where retirement is available at 2/3 pay after 25 years, with a COLA and no age.
