The Saco Police Department is seeking academy-certified candidates for a lateral transfer police officer opening to join our team and make a difference in the Saco community. The starting pay rate for a patrol officer is $35.50 per hour plus years of service credits for certified officers, so an officer with nine years of experience would start at $41.53 per hour. We also offer education incentives added to the base pay: Associate’s and Military Experience: $.50 per hour, Bachelor’s: $.75 per hour, and Master’s: $1.00 per hour.

Year 2: $36.92
Year 4: $38.40
Year 6: $39.93
Year 8: $41.53
Year 12: $42.36
Year 16: $43.21
Year 20: $44.07
Year 25: $44.95
