The Town of Thomaston is on the lookout for a motivated, experienced leader to fill the role of Environmental Department Superintendent. This is an exciting, hands-on opportunity to manage Thomaston’s wastewater collection and clean water systems while ensuring compliance with Maine’s environmental regulations.

About the Role:
As Environmental Department Superintendent, you’ll oversee the full operation, administration, and maintenance of our wastewater and clean water drainage systems. Working under the Town Manager, you’ll have a high level of independence in this leadership role, where you’ll guide a dedicated team, ensure safety and quality control, and manage project costs. You’ll also engage with both internal teams and external partners, making a meaningful impact on Thomaston’s environmental infrastructure.

Key Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental/technological engineering, wastewater science, or equivalent experience
  • 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a related field
  • State of Maine III or higher Wastewater Operator’s Certification or ability to obtain certification
  • Valid driver’s license
