Advanced or Paramedic Per-Diem Hiring Announcement with Sign-on Bonus.

 

New Gloucester Fire Rescue is currently seeking to hire 5 ALS per-diem providers. A sign-on bonus of $500.00 for up to 5 ALS providers is made possible through Maine EMS grant funding. To be eligible you must be a new or current member holding a valid Maine State Advanced or Paramedic License at the time of hire or shift to working per-diem hours on A1 after July 1st. The eligible person must complete orientation and work a minimum of four (4) shifts a month for 6 months. Stipend would be paid at approximately the 8-month mark as the scheduling is done two months ahead. Current staffing is two per-diem FF/EMS providers on duty 24hrs a day, 7 days a week. Shifts run in 12hr blocks from 8am-8pm and 8pm-8am. Per-diems primary job assignment is to staff our ambulance however, if qualified, per-diem staff are also responsible for fire and service emergency calls. New Gloucester Fire Rescue handled a combined 639 calls for service in 2023. New Gloucester is a bedroom community with approximately 5,676 residents that call the town home. NGFR is responsible for protecting 47 sq miles of beautiful country setting, two bodies of water, the Royal River, the last active Shaker Community, and the Pineland campus. NGFR has one station that houses 1 ambulance, 2 engines, 2 tankers, command SUV and utility truck. NGFR transports primarily to four area hospitals located in Lewiston or Portland. NGFR prides itself on providing prompt, and professional emergency response to the residents and visitors to the community.
