Maine Public Employees Retirement System (MainePERS) seeks an Account Representative to join our Survivor Services team. This customer service work is focused on providing support to employers, members and benefit recipients related to life insurance and survivor benefits. An employee in this position must apply knowledge of survivor services related statutes and regulations, to research, evaluate, and provide moderately complex information to a diverse audience. Basic accounting functions related to accurate billing and payment of premiums are also core components of this work. This includes responsibility to identify member status, group life insurance eligibility, and the variety of benefits available. Must have a good balance of compassion while providing ongoing technical assistance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum qualifications:

High School Diploma plus Four (4) years of related responsible experience that demonstrates solid customer service skills: good listening and respectful communications; consistency in reviewing and assuring the accuracy of financial and written information prior to distribution; and fidelity to basic accounting principles.

Previous work history must include practical experience with basic computer applications.
Preferred qualification:
Salary: Begins at $43,763 in annualized with excellent benefits.
