The Town of Kennebunk Police Department is looking for a full-time Behavioral Health Liaison. The position is a trained mental health and substance use worker embedded in the Police Department who provides intervention, education, outreach, and case management. The Liaison functions independently and acts as a connection between Kennebunk residents and treatment services or facilities, representing the Police Department in multiple settings. Our liaisons also support the Town of Kennebunkport up to five hours per week.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant social science or equivalent field required, master’s degree preferred;
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a related field desired;
- Experience working within municipal government or with police/public safety personnel desirable;
- Valid driver’s license; or
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.
Pay & Benefits
This is a regular full-time, 40 hour per week, non-exempt, non-union position with a starting pay range of $27.70/hour – $33.07/hour; grade G of the Town’s Non-Union Pay Ranges. Starting pay will be determined based on demonstrated knowledge, skills, abilities, and work experience.
