The Town of Kennebunk’s Fire Rescue Department is seeking Call Firefighters/EMS Providers. These call positions report directly to the Shift Captain/other Department members as directed. These are skilled call firefighting and/or emergency medical positions. The employee in this position responds to a wide range of fire suppression, medical, and traumatic emergencies in a community of 44 square miles with a year round population of 12,000 that increases significantly in summer months. Due to the geography of the community, the position must be prepared for emergencies on/in the ocean, highways, residential neighborhoods, industrial areas, railways, agricultural settings, and senior residential facilities

Position Requirements

  1. High school diploma or equivalent
  2. State licensed EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic (if practicing as an EMS provider)
  3. Firefighter I & II certification
  4. National Incident Management IS 100, 200, and 700
  5. AVOC/EVOC or equivalent
  6. Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license with no serious infractions
  7. Must pass a physical agility test as determined by the Fire Chief or their designee

 

Position Pay

This is an hourly, non-exempt, non-union position with a starting pay of $21.53 for a Firefighter 1 and $24.28 for a Firefighter/EMT. There is potential for a higher rate based on work experience, certifications, EMS license level and education level.
