The Parks and Recreation Department of the Town of Brunswick seeks candidates for a Full Time Child Care Director position.
The ideal candidate will have proven and demonstrated supervisory skills caring for young children and a strong leadership background. Additional requirements include passion for children, understanding and supporting the development of young children, and working in a team environment. Responsibilities for this position include planning, organizing, and implementing the day-to-day aspects of the Child Care program, spaces, supervising participants & leading a team of full time and part time teachers. The individual will assist with State Child Care licensing, program policies and procedures, budgets, staff reviews, curriculum development and parent interactions. This position will actively work in the classroom daily assisting Lead Teachers, training staff, assessing children, planning monthly curriculum, organizing daily activities, maintaining a clean and safe classroom, daily communications with parents through apps like Tadpoles, and ensuring the safety of children aged 6 weeks to 4 years old.
This position will involve a Monday thru Friday 40-hour work week with shifts that could range from early morning to early evening, based on scheduling demands. This position will pay $21-$24 per hour, depending on experience. Applicants must be, or able to obtain, Level 7 on Maine Roads to Quality.
This position is a regular full-time non-exempt position and is contingent upon the successful continuation of the Child Care Program.
