The City of Bath is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Deputy Public Works Director. The Deputy Public Works Director performs complex supervisory, administrative and professional work within the department, including environmental, sewer, street, traffic control, landfill/recycling and other public works projects and programs. The Deputy Public Works Director also serves as the Director of Solid Waste.

Bath has steadily gained national recognition as an ideal location to live, work, and play. Unique traits include its long tidal shoreline, historic infrastructure, state roads including Route 1, and its small footprint's mix of urban, rural, and commercial areas. The City's Public Works Department is responsible for streets and sidewalks; solid waste and recycling, including a municipally managed landfill; sewer and storm water systems, and a water pollution control facility with pumping stations. The Public Works Department has approximately 28 employees.

The ideal candidate has considerable knowledge in municipal public works functions and management, including program and fleet management and staff hiring and supervision. A qualified candidate has five years of progressively responsible experience in public works or a closely-related field.

Starting salary range is $85,000-98,000, depending on experience. The City offers MPERS and excellent health and wellness benefits.
