The City of Gardiner is seeking a motivated, team-oriented individual to fill the full-time 37.5 hour/week position of Deputy Tax Collector.
This position reports directly to the City Clerk/Tax Collector and is responsible for assisting and supporting in Tax Collection duties. The ideal candidate will be able to work well in a fast-paced environment, and have strong administrative, accounting and communication skills. This person must excel in customer service and have a desire to be part of a great team.
They will receive and record payments of property taxes and sewer taxes, balance cash drawer, and prepare collected monies for deposit. They will also assist with lien processes, provide information to citizens and real estate agents on property taxes, and register cars, trucks and other motorized vehicles.
The ability to interact effectively with elected officials, community members, and City staff is essential.
Starting pay is $23.65 to $26.27 per hour depending on experience, plus excellent benefits, including health insurance and MePERS retirement.
