Seeking a qualified individual to join Portland Public Health’s dynamic clinical services team as an administrative assistant. This position provides administrative support for the clinical services at 39 Forest Avenue serving members of vulnerable and diverse populations. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience in computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access), spreadsheets and software, have the ability to prepare reports as well as the ability to independently arrange for professional meetings, schedule patients, and make reminder calls. This role will work in a team setting providing support for several programs while prioritizing division-wide needs so the ability to be organized and effectively communicate will be necessary.
Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To:
• Greeting and checking in patients.
• Scheduling appointments.
• Report preparation.
• Answering telephones.
• Problem solving.
Required Experience:
• Thorough knowledge of administrative practices and procedures
• Excellent customer service skills
• Must possess good communication and attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Thorough knowledge of modern office equipment practices and procedures.
Preferred Experience:
• Experience as an administrative assistant in a fast paced setting is desired, clinical setting preferred
• Experience working with a diverse population.
• Experience with multi-line phone system.
• Knowledge of Excel and other computer software utilized by individual departments.

Salary & Benefits:
This is a union position, CEBA (Grade 8) Salary range - $19.02 - $20.18/hr
