$1,500 Sign-On Bonus for External Applicants.
We are seeking a motivated leader to join our team! The Portland International Jetport is seeking to fill one position for a second shift Maintenance Supervisor or Foreman. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of Maine’s largest airport and make a difference every day by keeping our operations running smoothly. During training, this position is a 1st shift Monday through Friday with the final shift to 2nd
What You'll Do:
• Lead and mentor a talented team of Airport Maintenance Workers.
• Oversee maintenance tasks on everything from airport buildings to runways, both airside and landside.
• Considerable knowledge of the practices and techniques of the maintenance and repair of airport facilities.
• Schedule, inspect, and ensure high-quality work while keeping safety a top priority.
• Work closely with other airport divisions to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
What We're Looking For:
• A strong background in heavy equipment and construction.
• Ability to operate a variety of automotive and heavy equipment including complex vehicles used in airport snow removal and vegetation management operations.
• Working knowledge of the occupational and safety precautions of airport maintenance as well as required procedures for working in Air Traffic Controlled areas.
• Ability to assist with scheduling and participate in large-scale maintenance operations.
• Ability to interpret plans and specifications.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment in making decisions and directing work crews.
• Knowledge of supervisory methods.
• Ability to pass a physical assessment (cardio, strength, flexibility, vision, and hearing).
• A valid Maine Class B driver’s license; Successful completion of TSA background check (TSR Part 1542) and a federally mandated drug test

Salary & Benefits:
This is a union position:
If applying for the supervisor position: AFSCME Supervisor – Grade 27A - $1,038/week, plus a 2nd shift differential of .55/hour.
If applying for the foreman position: AFSCME Foreman – Grade 24A - $989.20/week, plus a 2nd shift differential of .55/hour.
