City of Portland - Maintenance Worker II - Solid Waste
Up to $2,500 sign on bonus available!
Schedule is Monday thru Friday from 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM
The Public Works Department is seeking a qualified applicant to join the Solid Waste team. Successful applicant must be able to work holidays and some Saturday’s and when called in for winter operations.
Required Skills & Experience:
• Demonstrate the ability to operate and maintain Solid Waste equipment including rubbish packers, recycling trucks, roll-off trucks.
• Must also have ability to operate and maintain winter equipment including dump trucks and front-end loaders as required.
• Applicants must possess good visual acuity for driving and physical strength, agility and stamina necessary to withstand exposure to adverse climatic conditions.
• Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, supervisors and members of the public.
• Must possess valid Maine Class A or B driver’s license (must provide license number).
• Must pass pre-employment medical exam and fitness assessment and pass federally mandated drug test.
• Must have and maintain good driving record.

Salary & Benefits:
This is a union position, Labor & Trades (17-CDL) - Salary Range: $27.13/hr. to $29.82/hr.
