Senior Human Services Counselor (Homeless Services Center) - Health and Human Services - Social Services Division
Full-Time (37.5 Hours/Week), Permanent Position.
The Schedule for this position is: Sunday - Thursday 12:00 am - 08:00 am. In addition, a monthly two-hour staff meeting is required.
This is a supervisor position responsible for overseeing the operations of the state’s largest homeless shelter. The position requires direct supervision of shelter attendants. Intake paperwork, data quality assurance and communication with Homeless Services Center senior management.
Requirements:
• Positive attitude with exceptional patience and customer service skills required.
• This position will also be responsible for ensuring neighborhood safety checks are done regularly.
• Experience working in a homeless shelter
• Experience with homeless or low income/at risk case management and excellent customer service skills.
• A valid Class C Maine Driver’s License preferred.
• Supervisory experience in a homeless shelter or social services position preferred.
• A Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field; or commensurate work experience preferred.

This is a non-union position (Band B25) - Starting at $28.72/hr.
