The City of Sanford is seeking a motivated and dependable Airport Maintenance Worker to join our team at the Sanford Seacoast Regional Airport!

You’ll work on a wide variety of systems, equipment, and facilities while gaining valuable hands-on experience and training in airport operations and maintenance.
This position will be responsible for the following:
- Maintain and improve airport buildings, runways, taxiways, lighting systems, ramps, and signage
- Operate and service a range of vehicles and heavy equipment—including loaders, tractors, snow blowers, and sweepers
- Monitor and report airport conditions, issue NOTAMs, and ensure safety and compliance with FAA standards
- Communicate with pilots and airport users via aviation radio
- Help implement wildlife hazard and stormwater management plans
- Participate in emergency operations and assist distressed aircraft
- Maintain the appearance of airport grounds and support seasonal operations like snow and ice control

The qualifications required for this position are as follows:
- High school diploma or GED (post-secondary training is a plus!)
- Ability to obtain a State of Maine Commercial Applicator’s License (6B General Vegetation Management) and Herbicide Applicator’s License within 6 months of hire
- A valid State of Maine Class II/B CDL and a clean driving record
- A team-first attitude, problem-solving skills, and willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays, and be on-call when needed
