RESERVE CDL TRUCK DRIVER - DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS

The City of Sanford’s Public Works Department is hiring Reserve (On-Call) CDL Truck Drivers to assist with snow plow operations during the winter season and any other heavy equipment needs during the year. We are looking for applicants who have and maintain a valid State of Maine Class II/B or I/A CDL operator’s license. Applicants must also possess a clean driving record. Experience in the operation of heavy equipment and previous snow plowing experience with a city, town or contractor is strongly preferred. Hours may be assigned on-call and will vary as determined by the needs of the City of Sanford Department of Public Works during inclement weather, emergency situations, or at the discretion of the Director of Public Works, Director of Highway and or his/her designee.
The starting pay for this position is $25.00 per hour. There are no fringe benefits associated with this position other than the Earned Paid Leave Law. Work is assigned and primarily carried out from the Public Works Department. Work assignments will encompass all areas of the City of Sanford.
All applicants for positions requiring a CDL are required to pass a drug test as a prerequisite of employment, prior to final hiring.
