CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER (CEO)
JOB DESCRIPTION

This position is part-time: 9 hours per month in the winter season/18 hours per month in the summer season, attending one evening planning board meeting once a month.

This position will report directly to the Town Manager and also includes the following titles: Local Plumbing Inspector, Health Officer, Emergency 911 Coordinator, and Fence Viewer.

Duties include: issuing permits, performing inspections, enforcing state and municipal ordinances, communicating with appropriate state and local agencies as needed, supporting and recommending to the planning board appropriate rules for shoreland zoning, and providing service by phone, email, and mail regarding the Town of Hartland.

The CEO needs to be able to create, organize, and maintain records, reports, and logs which align with all the listed titles above.

Must demonstrate an ability to work independently, be flexible, and be a team player.
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; must be certified in the appropriate jobs listed above; must have a valid driving license for the State of Maine; and be willing to take a pre-employment exam.
