GENERAL INFORMATION:

Barg. Unit: Maine Service Employees Association (MSEA)
Status: Full-Time, 37.5 hours/week
Grade: 13 [$20.60 - $23.17 / hourly]
Schedule: Tues.-Sat. 10:30am-7:00pm, and as needed for activities/events/programs
SUMMARY: Assist with coordinating the shared use of facilities and equipment to support the expanding opportunities available through the Lewiston Recreation Department.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Associates degree in Recreation and Leisure Service Administration, or related field, and two (2) years experience in recreational programming- or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess a valid Maine driver’s license, in good standing.
WORK ACTIVITIES: Develop and implement community athletic programs for all ages, including structured and non-structured activities. Maintain working partnerships with Lewiston organizations and develop opportunities for those organizations to utilize public facilities. Oversee athletic field rentals, and maintain a master schedule of community games, practices and events. Provide onsite supervision and support for programs to enforce policies, procedures, and best practices at a variety of facilities. May act as a site supervisor, referee or even a coach! Assist with athletic field based initiatives, including coordination of community volunteers for athletic field clean-ups. Maintain inventory of equipment and oversee both issue and return of equipment. Assist with supporting quality community, cultural, recreation, and other leisure time activities for all ages. Assist with incoming calls, visitors and other administrative tasks. Perform other duties as assigned.
