Schedule: 38 hours per week, Monday – Thursday, 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM (Enjoy a 4-day workweek)
Pay: $21 - $25 per hour, depending on experience

The Town of Bucksport is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Deputy Town Clerk to join our team. This position is essential to the smooth operation of the Town Office, handling a variety of administrative duties and interacting with the public daily. Key Responsibilities:

  • Process payments and maintain records for property and excise taxes

  • Assist residents with motor vehicle registrations, licenses, and permits

  • Issue marriage, hunting, fishing, and dog licenses while ensuring accurate record-keeping

  • Issue vital records

  • Support election duties, including voter registration and absentee ballot processing

  • Provide administrative support to various Department Heads as needed

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Experience in clerical work, record-keeping, or customer service preferred

  • Proficiency in office software and strong attention to detail

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

  • Familiarity with municipal operations and state regulations (or willingness to learn)
